Some weddings are extra special to photograph, not just because of the beautiful setting or joyful celebration, but because of the people at the center of it all.
Matt and Julianna’s June wedding at Honeysuckle Ridge LLC in Airville, Pennsylvania was one of those days for me. Matt is my brother, and Julianna is now my sister-in-law. Being both a bridesmaid and the lead photographer made this wedding incredibly meaningful, and one I’ll never forget.
It was a day filled with joy, family, laughter, and the kind of moments that remind you just how special weddings truly are.
A Beautiful Summer Wedding at Honeysuckle Ridge
Nestled in the country side of Airville, Honeysuckle Ridge provides the perfect setting for a relaxed and scenic Pennsylvania wedding. And June is one of the most beautiful times of year here the fields are lush and green, the air is warm, and the golden evening light stretches across the landscape. It created the perfect backdrop for Matt and Julianna’s celebration with their closest family and friends. From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere felt joyful and welcoming.
Photographing My Brother’s Wedding
This wedding was unique for me in the best possible way. I had the honor of serving as both a bridesmaid and the lead photographer for the day. Being able to stand beside Julianna during the ceremony while also capturing the story of the day through my camera meant so much to me. To help make that possible, the talented Megan Georgia of Meg Georgia Photos photographed alongside me throughout the day.
Megan captured so many of the moments I otherwise would have missed while standing in the bridal party, including ceremony images, family portraits, and bridal party photos that I was part of. Having her there allowed the story of the day to be documented from every angle and me to be able to enjoy the day as both a photographer and family member.
I’m so grateful for her support and the way she helped preserve these memories for our family.
A Meaningful Ceremony
As guests gathered for the ceremony at Honeysuckle Ridge, there was a sense of anticipation and excitement in the air.
Watching my brother stand at the front, waiting for Julianna to walk down the aisle, was one of those moments that feels both emotional and surreal at the same time. Their ceremony was heartfelt, joyful, and full of meaning the kind of moment where you can feel just how loved a couple truly is. When they were finally pronounced husband and wife, the celebration began in full.
Celebrating with Family and Friends
The reception inside the barn at Honeysuckle Ridge felt warm, lively, and full of laughter, fun and joy.
Friends and family shared heartfelt toasts, guests filled the dance floor, and the evening unfolded exactly the way the best wedding celebrations do, naturally and joyfully. One of the things I loved most about the day was how present everyone was. It didn’t feel rushed or overly structured. It simply felt like a group of people coming together to celebrate Matt and Julianna and the beginning of their marriage.
Golden Hour in the Pennsylvania Countryside
As the sun began to set over the countryside, Matt and Julianna stepped away for a few quiet moments together during golden hour. The fields around Honeysuckle Ridge glowed in the warm summer light, creating the kind of soft, natural backdrop that makes Pennsylvania summer weddings so beautiful. These moments always feel special; the timeline slows down, the light turns golden, and the couple finally has a chance to take everything in together.
A Wedding I’ll Always Treasure
Photographing weddings is always an honor, but documenting my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding day was something truly special.
