Some wedding days are memorable not because everything goes perfectly according to plan, but because every moment, even the unexpected ones, becomes part of the story. Calee and Ryan’s July wedding at Wissler Farms was exactly that kind of day.
A Lancaster County Farm Wedding
Tucked away in the countryside of Holtwood, Pennsylvania, Wissler Farms is one of those venues that instantly feels peaceful when you arrive. The property is full of character from the weathered barn used for the reception to the large pond, stone house, and open farmland.
In the middle of summer, the landscape is vibrant and green, making it a beautiful backdrop for a wedding day.
Friends and family gathered on the farm to celebrate Calee and Ryan, and the excitement in the air was unmistakable as the day unfolded.
A Ceremony Filled with Joy
Their ceremony took place outdoors, on the dock overlooking the pond, surrounded by the quiet beauty of Lancaster County farmland. When Calee made her way down the aisle, Ryan’s reaction said everything. The smiles, laughter, and emotion shared between them made it clear how excited they were to finally reach this moment.
Those genuine reactions are always some of the most meaningful parts of a wedding day to photograph.
A Little Rain During Family Photos
Not long after the ceremony, the weather decided to add a small twist to the schedule.
Right as we began family portraits, a summer shower rolled in. Instead of letting it disrupt the celebration, everyone simply adapted. We worked quickly, moved to covered areas when needed, and captured the important family moments despite the rain.
Sometimes those unexpected moments become the most memorable parts of the day. The laughter and flexibility from everyone involved made it feel less like an inconvenience and more like part of the adventure.
Portraits Around the Farm
Once the rain passed, we explored the property for portraits. One of the things that makes Wissler Farms so special is the variety of scenery within a short walk.
We spent time around the pond, used the surrounding fields for soft, romantic portraits, and captured a few images near the barn that gave the photos that classic countryside feel Lancaster County is known for.
As the evening approached, the light softened across the fields, the perfect way to end portrait time.
A Barn Reception to Celebrate
Guests gathered inside the barn for the reception, where warm wood tones and rustic details created such an inviting space for the evening. The room quickly filled with conversation, laughter, and celebration as dinner began.
From heartfelt toasts to a packed dance floor later in the night, the reception felt relaxed and joyful, exactly the kind of atmosphere that reflects a couple surrounded by people who love them.
A Wedding Day to Remember
Calee and Ryan’s wedding day was a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful celebrations aren’t about perfect weather or perfect timelines. They’re about the people who gather together and the commitment being made.
Calee and Ryan — it was such a joy to document the beginning of your marriage.
